Uniform

Uniform

When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.

Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:

  • meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation
  • includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics
  • is appropriate for the full range of school activities
  • is suitable for all body shapes.

Information

A school uniform promotes a sense of inclusion and belonging amongst our learners, and of course they all look smart and super cute!

Stanford Merthyr Infants School uniform consists of a light blue branded polo shirt with grey shorts for boys and royal blue skort, culottes for girls in summer and royal blue tracksuit, jumper or cardigan in winter.

Girls and boys wear a branded gold T-shirt for Sports day. Grey socks and black shoes for boys and white socks and black shoes for girls.

There is also a compulsory school branded bucket hat. All kindergarten students receive a school hat on the first day of school.

School Polo Shirts ($22.00), Sports Shirts ($16.00) and Jackets ($34.00) with the school logo can be bought from the front office.

Shorts, Skorts, Cullottes and track pants can be purchased from local retailers.

Our school hats are compulsory and can be purchased from our school office for $11 as part of our sun safety policy. Students are not permitted to wear caps.

Items of clothing that are not part of our school uniform are not permitted to be worn at school. Examples of these are; clothing that is labelled with a brand, non-school logo or picture. Black leggings, coloured jackets, jumpers and brightly coloured shoes.

Please be sure to name each of your child’s items, first name, surname and class. This will ensure that when (not if!) it gets left in the playground it can find its way back to your child’s classroom.

Sun Protection

We are very conscious of the need for protection from the sun in our hot climate. Parents are urged to ensure their student wears a blue school bucket hat. Students must remain under the covered outdoor learning area during recess and lunch if they don’t have an approved hat. An appropriate sunscreen lotion is necessary for extended outdoor activities as well.

Our school hats are compulsory and can be purchased from our school office for $10 as part of our sun safety policy. Students are not permitted to wear caps.

Clothing Pool

A limited school clothing pool exists. Donations of school uniforms for the clothing pool are always appreciated.
